Capacity increases up to 600 GB using the drive`s data compression feature. Transfer rates are an impressive 24 MB/s. With such high capacity, you`ll need to buy fewer tapes and will spend less time managing media, while the ability to write multiple volumes on each tape (as small as 200 MB) further improves media cost-efficiency. The extremely fast throughput will dramatically reduce the time it takes to backup and restore, while the combination of a flash memory file inventory on each tape plus the drive`s 1.4 GB per second search speed will ensure the fastest access to stored data. Utilizing Advanced Metal Particle tape, the CY-9200 features a Reed Solomon error correction methodology with a high performance buffer and automatic read/write re-try. The result is exceptional data integrity—the bit error rate is less than one error in 1017 bits read. The drive`s precision tape transport system, self-diagnostics, and automatic head cleaning system provide a MTBF of greater than 200,000 power-on hours. Backward read compatible with the previous DTF generation, the CY-9200 migration path will support uncompressed capacity and performance of 800 GB at 96 MB/s in the future.
