The ADIC DATa 8000™ Series backup systems provide a choice between the latest high performance, high capacity 4mm DAT drives for high reliability backup of workstations and local area networks. ADIC DATa 8000 systems feature built-in data compression, high capacity, fast transfer rates and small cartridge size. Drive options include DDS-2 format and the new Sony SDT-9000 DDS-3 drive with transfer rates of up to 140/MB1 minute -the highest 4mm throughput in the industry.

ADIC`s DATa 8000 Series offers the latest Digital Data Storage technology including DCLZ data compression, read-after-write C3 error correction, and a per-cartridge capacity up to of 24 gigabytes with average 2:1 compression.

The ADIC DATa 8000 Series provides the speed to perform complete backups of small networks within today`s shrinking back-up windows. The DATa 8008 and 8008ED provide up to 44MB/minute and 93MB/minute transfer rates respectively. The DATa 8024D offers up to 140MB/minute transfer rate, 60% faster than standard 4mm drives. High search speeds (200 times normal read/write speeds) allow random file access times of less than 45 seconds. Data 8008ED and 8024D models provide status information about your data by adding an intergrated LCD display to the normal drive LEDs.

STORAGE FOR GROWING LANS

Because ADIC DATa 8000 Series drives meet all SCSI-2 (Small Computer System Interface) standards, growth is simple. When your system outgrows your DATa 8000 Series system, simply daisy chain a second DATa 8000 Series drive to it. Or add an ADIC DAT Library. WITH DDS COMPATIBILITY

The DATa 8008 and 8008ED use 120-meter DDS-2 cartridges but will read and write to DDS-1 tapes at DDS-1 performance levels. The DATa 8024D use 125-meter DDS-3 cartridge but will read and write to DDS-2 or DDS-1 tapes at their respective performance levels. And, of course, all tapes created on the DATa 8008, 8008ED or 8024D can be read and used on any ADIC library system equipped with the same drive type.

4mm DDS cartridges do not require time-consuming pre-formatting or retensioning. Their small size, 3/8 thick and about the size of a credit card, makes them easy to transport and store.

SUPPORT FOR NETWARE, WINDOWS NT, MACINTOSH,UNIX

ADIC DATa 8000 Series backup systems are supported by all of the leading applications software packages for the major network operating systems. Support includes all of the major server-based NLM packages for NetWare, and for the major Windows NT and Macintosh packages. UNIX support includes SCO UNIX, IBM AIX, SunOS and Sun Solaris, HP UX, DEC ULTRIX, Silicon Graphics, and ATT/NCR UNIX.
